On this episode the guys are joined by Red Sox infield prospect Justin Riemer who just wrapped up his first season playing in Boston's system.
Justin missed the 2023 season after he was drafted following an ACL injury suffered in college. He goes over his road to recovery, playing pro ball, the differences between college and pros and more.
“It was a surreal feeling at first, like even going back to like my first live ABs, like being in there against another pitcher and competing, like from day one of those, it was just like a surreal feeling,” on getting back to action on the field following his ACL injury. “And then it was just like I would continually get more comfortable each time I was out there. And then finally, when I got into games, like continually seeing live pitching day in and day out, I just continued to get more comfortable.
“But honestly, above all else, I just had a ton of fun, just like being able to just play again. I think we touched on it a little bit on the last time I was on, but just the appreciation that the rehab process gave me for the game and just like, it really brought like that to like the forefront of my mind of just like appreciation for being able to play day in and day out, something that I love doing, which is more than anything else, which is playing.”
