Norwith Gudiño notches first win with Red Sox organization
Norwith Gudiño spent the entirety of the 2022 season with the San Francisco Giants Triple-A affiliate Sacramento River Cats where he posted a 3-5 record with an 8.87 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 47.2 innings pitched in 26 games (6 starts).
Gudiño may not have recorded any strikeouts on the evening, but he did provide the WooSox with their best outing from a starting pitcher in the first three games of the season.
He went five scoreless innings, walking three and earned his first win of the season. The only win by a WooSox starting pitcher so far on the year.
Gudiño worked mostly his fastball and slider against Syracuse and it helped him get out of jams against the Mets.
The fastball reached around 92 mph while his offspeed pitches were anywhere between 82-84 and 85-88 mph.
Worcester won the game 8-1 and improve to 2-1 on the year. It’s a day off on Monday before opening a series with the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday.
