Northcut and Davis Lead Greenville to Victory
Northcut hit three homers in Greenville’s win.
It was a home run derby Nicholas Northcut in the Greenville Drive 16-4 victory over Asheville.
The power-hitting righty blasted three home runs, drove in eight and scored four times on a four-for-five night.
Northcut’s first home run came in the bottom of the first inning. It was a grand slam, his 17th home run of the year.
His second home run of the night, and his 18th total on the year came in the bottom of the second, it was a three run shot.
The third and final home run came in the bottom of the sixth, it was a solo shot and his 19th of the year.
Also joining home run party was Joe Davis who hit his eight home run of the year in the bottom do the fourth, it was a three run shot.
Mata, who got the start, worked three innings allowing a run, a hit, two walks, and striking out five during the clubs massive win. He threw 54 pitches, 28 for strike.
