Nick Pivetta strikes out 10 for the Red Sox, clinch series win over Cardinals
Pivetta owns a 1.77 ERA over his last seven starts
The Red Sox improved to 13-4 in the month of June with their 6-4 win over the Cardinals at Fenway Park.
Nick Pivetta was great again, striking out 10 batters over seven innings of work. He allowed one run, four hits while walking four to earn his seventh win of the season.
Pivetta was fired up on the mound as the game went on. He pumped his fists as he left the field following his 10th strikeout. Pivetta would immediately hug manager Alex Cora once he got to the dugout. Cora has shown continued confidence in his surging righty.
Since starting the 2022 season 0-4, Pivetta has completely turned it around. He’s 7-1 with a 1.77 in nine starts since his horrid start.
Pivetta recorded 12 swings-and-misses, including eight with his four-seam fastball that averaged 93.3 mph.
