New York Mets ink former Red Sox minor league reliever
The New York Mets signed free agent RHP Denyi Reyes to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training, per the transactions log.
The 26-year-old right-handed pitcher signed with Boston as an international free agent back in 2014.
Pirates acquire left-handed hurler Inmer Lobo in the Hoy Park trade
Reyes spent six seasons in the Red Sox system working his way up from the Dominican Summer League Red Sox. He was elevated to then Triple-A Pawtucket. Reyes also spent time on the Red Sox's 40-man roster.
The former Red Sox minor leaguer left the organization back in 2021 and signed with division rival Orioles.
The right-handed hurler made his Major League Baseball debut in 2022 as with the Orioles. Reyes appeared in three games and posted a 2.35 ERA in 7 2/3 innings pitched.
