Mata Was Stellar, Hamilton Steals Three Bags, and Koss Homers in Sea Dogs Victory
Five innings with seven strikeouts for Mata
Bryan Mata worked another stellar outing for the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday afternoon.
Mata, the clubs seventh ranked prospect has now posted a 0.55 ERA over 16 and a third innings with 22 strikeouts and only eight walks for the Sea Dogs.
On the year, Mata has had a successful rehab stint with clubs. He now owns a 1-1 record with a 1.65 ERA over 27 and a third innings with 39 strikeouts and 16 walks over eight appearances.
David Hamilton went on and stole three bases for the Sea Dogs in the game. He now has 36 on the year, which leads all of Red Sox minor leaguers.
Christian Koss hit a two-run home run, it was his 10th blast of the year.
The Sea Dogs and Patriots play the penultimate game of the series on Saturday with a 6:00 PM first pitch at Hadlock Field. Portland sends RHP Brian Van Belle (3-1, 4.29 ERA) to the mound against Somerset RHP Sean Boyle (6-4, 4.67 ERA).
