Through the Bruins first seven games, they have been one of the best teams in the NHL. They are getting production from every line and proving to be a handful for opponents. While their forward play has stood out, Linus Ullmark has been a difference-maker in net.
The former sixth-round pick is 5-0 with a .936 save percentage to start the season. He has not allowed more than three goals in a start and has already added a few spectacular saves to his resume. After an impressive 2021-2022 campaign, Ullmark is picking up where he left off.
Additionally, the 29-year-old has a 2.01 GAA in 329 minutes of action. He has faced 171 shots and only allowed 11 goals. Due to his play, Ullmark is getting the majority of the starts in net. In the Bruins victory last night, he made at least thirty or more saves for the third time this season.
While his play has been one of the Bruins many bright spots, the Swedish native is not taking his teammates for granted. On Tuesday night, he emphasized that the Bruins early success was a team effort.
"It's not just me out there. It's a whole group of guys. We're doing this together."
In his second season in Boston, Ullmark is quickly becoming a fan favorite. He has provided stability in net and has a 31-10-2 record in 44 games wearing the black and gold. Along with Jeremy Swayman, Boston has one of the most promising goalie duos in the league. However, the veteran netminder is just getting started.
Pavel Zacha is proving to be a good addition to the Bruins lineup
As the season progresses, Ullmark will be critical to the Bruins success. During the 2021-2022 campaign, he set a career-high in games played with 41 and wins with 26. If he can build on those numbers, his stock will continue to rise. Over the last two weeks, he has shown that last season was no fluke and has been even better than before.
