Lefty Brendan Nail promoted to Triple-A Worcester
The Red Sox have promoted left-handed pitcher Brendan Nail to Triple-A Worcester.
Nail has put up an impressive 0.99 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched in Portland this season alongside 26 strikeouts.
Double-A wasn’t challenging Nail any longer, as opponents were carrying a .161 batting average against him on the season.
Nail will join a bullpen that is in desperate need of good arms. Worcester has a staff ERA of 5.61 on the season and has given up 305 earned runs in 489 innings.
