Kyle Schwarber is known for crushing majestic home runs not stealing bases.
During Game 1 of the World Series, Schwarber used his speed to win Americans a free Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco.
America’s new “Taco Hero,” reached first base on an infield single off Astros reliever Bryan Abreu in the top of the seventh inning. With the game all knotted up 5-5, Schwarber who’s ailing a sore knee stole second base to move into scoring position with only one out.
With his stolen base, Americans can know hit their local Taco Bell and claim their free taco.
This is all because of Major League Baseball’s partnership with Taco Bell. During the World Series, the two run the highly-anticipated "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion nationwide.
Schwarber isn’t the only former Red Sox star to be America’s “Taco Hero.” Mookie Betts has earned the honors twice, one with the Red Sox in 2018 and the other with the Dodgers in 2020.
During the 2007 Fall Classic, Jacoby Ellsbury was the first ever “Taco Hero” and it earned him the nickname of “Tacoby Ellsbury” on social media.
