Niko Kavadas and Nathan Hickey both hit home runs in Salem’s 9-6 win over Delmarva as the Sox improve to 32-30 on the year.
For Kavadas, this is his third consecutive home run game. During this hot stretch in the last three games, he has drove in eight runs off of his bases collected for Salem.
On Friday night, Kavadas helped lead Salem to victory with a one-for-three, home run and three RBI night.
Kavadas stayed hot on Saturday night as he hit a two-run home run and drove in another run on a single for the evening. All of his runs plated Blaze Jordan.
Hickey hit two bombs on Saturday evening Salem. It was his fifth and sixth of the year. His first home run of the night came in the third inning, it was a solo shot. His second home run of the night came in the eighth inning, it was also a solo shot. On the evening Hickey drove in two runs.
Salem’s pitching staff tallied for 10 strikeouts on the night and only used three pitchers.
Reidis Sena started for Salem and worked three innings allowing a run on three hits while striking out five.
Coming out of the pen for Salem was Tyler Uberstine and Adenys Bautista.
Uberstine went four and two thirds innings allowing three runs on six hits and walking one while also striking out five.
Bautista worked one and one third innings allowing two runs on one hit.
The two teams compete their series on Sunday with first pitch schedule for 5:05 PM.
