McLaughlin scored two goals, his first coming in the first period. The forward tipped in a Jack Ahcan shot on the power play at 7:09. He would then add another goal at 11:55 in the third period.
The North Billerica native has had a strong camp. If he can play with this energy, McLaughlin could be an asset on the fourth line.
Beecher also got in on the action, scoring two goals in the third period. The former Michigan center took a feed from Derek Forbort and Connor Clifton for his first of the preseason.
Less than two minutes later, Beecher would add an empty net goal sealing a 4-0 win.
Linus Ullmark turned away 21 shots to secure the shutout. He will share the goaltending duties with Jeremy Swayman this season.
