Red Sox left-handed prospect Jay Groome dominates Somerset
Jay Groome yet again had a great night
Jay Groome, the name that many fans within the Red Sox know pretty well already, had another stellar outing for Double-A Portland.
The Sox number 13 prospect showed domination on Tuesday afternoon.
On April 30, Groome struck out a career-high 10 through five and two thirds of innings against Somerset. He faced off against the Yankees Double-A again for the second time where he stuck out nine over six innings of work, earning his second win of the year while holding a 2.89 ERA.
For the season, Groome has 38 strikeouts through 37.1 innings of work and has a record of 2-1.
These numbers should not surprise anyone as he’s been lighting it up on the stat sheet all season long for the Double-A club.
He, like, Bello, could receive a promotion to Triple-A very soon.
In Beyond the Monster’s SoxSpects Portal, we take a look at Groome, and a potential call up in the future.
