Jackie Bradley Jr. has been designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday morning, according to Julian McWilliams on Twitter.
Bradley, who was part of the deal with the Red Sox and Brewers in the offseason that sent Hunter Refnroe to Milwaukee and Alex Binelas and David Hamilton to the Red Sox, hit .210 with three home runs during his second stint with Boston.
This now means that the outfield platoon will shape up around Jarren Duran, Tommy Pham and Alex Verdugo.
Bradley is now off of the clubs 40-man roster sheet and newly acquired Eric Hosmer is on and will join the Red Sox in Kansas City when they play the Royals.
Hosmer has not played in Kansas City since 2017 where he appeared in 162 games for the club before signing an eight-year deal with the San Diego Padres in the offseason.
