If, But, When, Where, How, Why
We have reached the part of the offseason that wholly consists of “ifs, whens, whys, wheres, and hows.” This is the part of the offseason where we are either sitting on the edge of our seats waiting on the next rumor to go the rounds on Twitter, or were sitting back, trying to figure out what our teams are doing to win their next championship. Red Sox Nation is a part of the latter.
Right now, we are stressing over if the Red Sox front office will do its part and bring back Xander Bogaerts, and lock up Rafael Devers.
Now, I have some thoughts about this. Dating back to the Mookie trade, the core from the 2018 team has slowly diminished. Vazquez, J.D, Betts, JBJ, among others. We now have Trevor Story for the foreseeable future. With a reloaded farm system and Chaim bringing in guys like Refsnyder who I think can really make an impact.
The Red Sox trade Mookie Betts so they can keep Xander and Raffy, and if they fail to do that, it would be a catastrophic failure by the front office and ownership.

I do not understand what the problem is. Bogey has quite literally said this is his home and wants to stay in Boston. Raffy has more or less said the same, but I think his contract will depend on if Xander stays. Not by much, but I do think there will be some impact to his price because Xander is his mentor/brother figure on the team. I might be naive in saying this but it cannot be that hard to get these guys locked up.
Quit lowballing them, and get these deals done.
Chaim has proven he has a Moneyball mindset. Which, don’t get me wrong, I love that strategy. In fact, Moneyball is my favorite baseball movie and I am watching it right now. But he is in Boston now. There is a lot more money here than in Tampa, so I think he needs to flex a little bit and show that the Boston Red Sox are still the historical Boston Red Sox.
Quit giving these bullshit press conferences and telling us the same thing over and over again.
