Franchy Cordero power surge continues with seven homers in last nine games
Cordero has shown off his power stroke between Triple-A and Boston
Franchy Cordero has been on a power surge the last nine games. The left-handed slugger has hit seven homers during that span that includes his time with Triple-A Worcester.
Cordero would hit his eighth of the season for the Red Sox on Sunday. His homer in the third inning went 403 feet with a 112.3 mph exit velocity.
The solo shot would cut the Rays lead down to 2-1.
Over his last five games, Cordero has hit .333 with a .429 on-base percentage and 1.083 OPS. Cordero has been inconsistent at the plate all season with the Red Sox. Manager Alex Cora will likely continue to ride Cordero’s hot bat into Minnesota.
