Former WooSox outfielder Bradley Zimmer will sign with the Rockies on a minor-league deal, per Thomas Harding of MLB.com.
Zimmer split time between the Dodgers and Red Sox organizations in 2023.
The California native started the season with the Dodgers and struggled in Triple-A hitting just .219 with an .669 OPS. After being released by Los Angeles, the Red Sox signed Zimmer to a minor-league deal in May and assigned him to Triple-A Worcester.
The 31-year-old played in 78 games between both organizations, hitting .210 with eight homers, 32 RBIs, 20 stolen bases with a .672 OPS. He struggled while playing for the WooSox, hitting .199 with 68 strikeouts (168 at-bats).
While with the WooSox, Zimmer spent time on the injured list with a right ankle strain.
The former first round pick is a veteran of six big league seasons, playing for the Cleveland Guardians organization for five seasons, the Blue Jays and Phillies. He’s a career .213 hitter with 21 homers, 91 RBI, 42 stolen bases and a .631 OPS.
