Former Red Sox Prospect Looking for New Team
A former Red Sox prospect is looking for his next team and former teammates are showing their support.
Grant Williams has averaged 8 points a game this year and has started a hand full of games due to a few injuries and…… oh, sorry, not that Grant Williams.
There is another Grant Williams that called a New England town home for the past couple of seasons. Williams is a former tenth round pick by the Red Sox back in 2018 out of Kennesaw State and had made it to AAA Worcester before his release in August of 2022. It appears Williams is still looking for a new place to call home for next season.

The most compelling part about it is the support that came on the post from former teammates in the Red Sox system.

Via his SoxProspects page, something interesting stuck out:
“Doesn't have a high ceiling, but useful player to have in the system. Has played primarily second and shortstop through his first two years, and held his own hitting at the bottom of the lineup. Handles himself professionally, type of player every team needs to fill out their rosters in the minor leagues.”
One of the best qualities about Williams is his versatility in the field. He is able to play three positions in the infield and should be sought after for the depth he can provide at those positions in any system. He had a down year at the plate this past season, but is a career .263 hitter with a respectable slash line. Grant Williams is the definition of a major bounce back candidate for any team that takes a chance on him.
