Former Red Sox outfielder signs with the Braves
Adam Duvall has found a new home, well maybe not so new. The outfielder is signing with the Braves marking this as his third stint in Atlanta.
Duvall and the Braves have agreed to a one-year deal worth $3 million, the club announced on Thursday.
Back in January, it was reported that Duvall was weighing his options and deciding between returning to the Red Sox or signing with the Angels.
Duvall’s name surfaced as a potential option for the Red Sox following the injury to Rob Refsnyder. The veteran outfielder suffered a broken left pinky toe after fouling a ball of his foot earlier this week.
There’s been conflicting reports that the Red Sox would be open to adding another right-handed bat following the Refsnyder injury. MassLive tossed the possibility that the club will seek external options, while Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reported the club will likely utilize internal options.
The 35-year-old Duvall returns to Atlanta where he won a World Series title in 2021. He played in 272 games for the Braves from 2018-22.
Duvall appeared in 92 games in total, he clubbed 21 home runs with 58 RBIs, 24 doubles, and a .247/.303/.531 slash line.
