Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers has won his second career Silver Slugger Award.
Devers batted .271/.351/.500 and led the Red Sox in both home runs (33) and RBIs (100). He is one of just five players to have a .500 slugging percentage every season for the last three years.
This is also the third time Devers has ended a season with 30+ home runs and 100+ RBIs in his career.
Houston’s Alex Bregman, Cleveland’s José RamÃrez, and Tampa Bay’s Isaac Paredes were also nominated for the award. Bregman (2019), RamÃrez (2017, 2018, 2020, 2022), and Devers (2021, 2023) combined have won the last seven AL Silver Slugger Awards for third base.
Devers led all AL third basemen in slugging percentage, OPS, extra-base hits, home runs, RBIs, and total bases.
Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas was also nominated for a Silver Slugger, but it was ultimately won by Yandy DÃaz.
The Red Sox have had a Silver Slugger winner in five of the last six seasons (2018: Betts, Martinez, 2019: Bogaerts, Betts, 2021: Bogaerts, Devers, 2022: Bogaerts, 2023: Devers).
