Corey Rosier gaining valuable experience in Triple-A before heading to Fall League
The Triple-A season is coming to a close this week and that will officially mark the end to the 2023 MiLB season. The WooSox are finishing up the year in Lehigh Valley and are seeing some new names in the lineup to fill in for a few injuries.
Ryan Fitzgerald, Yu Chang, David Hamilton, and Christian Arroyo have all been placed on the IL over the last month. The WooSox were in need of some depth as they finished the season and have called up Corey Rosier, Tyler McDonough, and Tyler Dearden from Double-A.
While the latter two havenโt played much, Rosier has been playing almost everyday for the past week and even saw a brief stint in Worcester earlier in the season. Over the 10 games he has seen action in, he is slashing .333/.429/.433. That comes after spending 104 games in Portland in which he stole 49 bases over the season.
Rosier told Beyond the Monster that he will be heading to the Arizona Fall League to play for Glendale once the season ends. After a fairly solid season in Portland and a good run to end the season in Triple-A, Rosier could find himself in an everyday starting role in Worcester in 2024. He will most likely find himself in a competition with a couple others in Double-A and a veteran free agent add. This good stretch alongside a good run in the AFL should give him the driverโs seat to a starting spot next season.
