Wong called up to Boston; Story to IL

The Red Sox on Saturday announced that Trevor Story would be placed on the 10-day injured list, thus, in a counter move the club would call up Connor Wong.

Wong, who has appeared in three games with Boston this year will get another brief shot with the club until Story is ready for a return and with his injury being backdated to July 14, he can rejoin the team as July 24, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.

This year for Triple-A Worcester, Wong has appeared in 60 games with six home runs and 22 RBIs over 233 at-bats.
