Connor Seabold back on the mound For Triple-A Worcester
The prospect returns after suffering an injury
Connor Seabold made his first appearance on Thursday night for Triple-A Worcester since May 15 when he worked six innings of shutout ball allowing only one hit while striking out a career-high 11.
Seabold was scheduled to make a routine appearance on May 20, but was scratched from that start due to a pectoral strain.
On June 5, the Red Sox number 14 prospect threw live BP where he threw 30 pitches. Seabold told Katie Morrison, of MassLive, that he “felt great” after his BP session.
Earlier this week, SoxProsepcts Chris Hatfield reported that Seabold would be activated off of the IL and would be starting on Thursday for Worcester.
Seabold worked three innings allowing two hits, no runs, walked three, and struck out two in the Worcester 6-0 win over Buffalo.
"I don’t keep track of the balls... I don’t keep track of the strikes, either, until I got two."Seabold was on a pitch count and only threw 51 pitches, 32 for strike.
If all things go well, and there are no set backs from his injury, Seabold should get the start on June 14, or at the latest on June 15.
The righty now has 39 strikeouts in 39.2 innings of work and owns a 3-1 record with a 2.27 ERA in eight games.
