Christian Gonzalez and Matthew Judon to miss time with injuries
The Patriots defense will be without two of their top stars. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez will miss time after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the loss to the Cowboys.
Gonzalez’s injury came with 2:44 remaining in the first quarter. The first round pick attempted to make a tackle to bring down running back Tony Pollard. He was shaken up on the play and tried to come off the field but went back down before being helped by trainers.
Tests will determine the length of time Gonzalez will miss.
Judon will also miss significant time after suffering a reported torn bicep injury. He suffered the injury in the fourth quarter.
“Devastating. But he was in good spirits, and we’ll be with him mentally throughout the year. I know he will be with us too,” Deatrich Wise said of Judon. “There will be some guys behind him that will be stepping up and filling his spot.”
The Patriots are 1-3 with a the Saints coming to Foxboro this coming weekend.
