Christian Arroyo hits a two-run homer in his return to the lineup
The Red Sox have been without Christian Arroyo for the last eight games. Arroyo missed time due to being on the COVID-IL.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora gave shortstop Xander Bogaerts the night off for game one against Cleveland. Arroyo would be penciled in for the start at shortstop and would make an impact.
In the top of the seventh with a runner on, Arroyo connected on a two-run homer that went 394 feet into the left field seats.
The two-run shot was Arroyo’s fourth homer of the season.
Coming into play tonight in Cleveland, Arroyo has just hit .187/.227/.319/.546 in 34 games this season.
