After suffering a fracture in his rib cage during spring training, left-handed flamethrower Chris Sale is on the mend to making an appearance with the Boston Red Sox.
Last week Sale threw live BP, where he faced the same three batters twice in two separate innings. During the BP session, current players on the Red Sox sat in attendance to watch Sale.
Sale touched 94-95 during the BP session.
Sale made his first rehab stint with the FCL Red Sox on Monday evening where he was on a pitch count and inning count.
Sale worked just one inning allowing a run on a hit while walking one and striking out one. The lone strikeout was Rays former top prospect Wander Franco.
He faced five batters in the rehab start.
