If your going to talk smack in sports, you better be able to back that up. Unfortunately, Celtics forward Grant Williams didn’t get the memo.
During the Celtics and Cavs game on Monday night, Williams had the chance to seal the win for Boston.
Williams was fouled with 0.8 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter with the game tied. He would attempt to win the game from the free throw line.
Payton Pritchard made the free throws possible, moving the basketball down the court in an attempt to deliver a game-winning layup. However, Pritchard missed the layup, while trying to get the rebound, Williams was fouled leading to the free throws.
Cameras caught the C’s big man telling Cavs star Donovan Mitchell “I’m going to make ‘em both.” He was referring to the two free throws he was about to attempt.
Instead, Williams missed both shots, sending the game to overtime. The Celtics would end up losing the game 118-114.
