Ceddanne Rafaela has been on a tear at the High-A level for the Greenville Drive. On Saturday, Rafaela went went two-for-four with a double and two RBI in the clubs 5-2 win.
Prior to his promotion, Rafaela was leading the club in OPS (.957), average (.330), RBI (36), runs (37), hits (65), doubles (16), at-bats (197), stolen bases (14), and slugging (.589). Rafaela is second in triples (4), games (45), and OBP (.368). His (9) home runs are third best on the Greenville Drive.
Earlier this year, the 21-year-old hit for the cycle against Hickory.
The news that Rafaela would be promoted to Double-A was broken by Chris Hatfield of Sox Prospects.

The one thing to mention here is that he’s not only comfortable in the outfield, but he’s also quite comfortable around the infield as well.
He is listed as a primary third baseman, but as we’ve seen this year, Boston is experimenting all avenues of Rafaela’s defense in the minors.
And the experiments are paying off.
Rafaela will likely make his Portland debut in the coming days.
