Ceddanne Rafaela on the Futures Game: ‘It was a dream come true’
Red Sox prospect Ceddanne Rafaela has had a memorable 2022 season. The 22-year-old played in the MLB Futures Game in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Rafaela who has been compared to Mookie Betts due to their similar swing and stature is having a career year. The red hot prospect is hitting .312/.354/.583 line, 16 homers, and 46 extra-base hits in 74 games this year.
Rafaela who went 0-for-2 with a pair of strikeouts. Despite the results in the Futures Game, the he soaked in the entire experience.
“I think in my life the best day was the day that they told me I’m coming here,” said Rafaela, following the game. “It was a dream come true.”
His rise through the Red Sox system has been very impressive.
“My ride with the Red sox has been great. I love it here. From the staff, to the players, it is great. Everything is great here. Moving up the rankings I don’t really let it get to my head, I stay humble and play my game and give it my all every single time I step on the field regardless if it practice or the actual game,” said Rafaela to Beyond the Monster.
“It is an awesome feeling of getting closer to your goal, it’s impossible to explain, it’s like your hard work is paying off, the hard work is not done, but you get a little boost along the way. It’s just awesome,” added Rafaela.
