The Boston Bruins have placed forward Oskar Steen and defensemen Nick Wolff and Connor Carrick on waivers.
If the three players clear waivers, the Bruins will assign them to Providence. The club is running the risk of Steen being claimed by another team. This past offseason, he agreed to a one-year deal with the club.
The 24-year-old played 20 games with Boston last season. Steen scored two goals and had four assists. While with the Providence Bruins, he played in 49 games with 15 goals, 20 assists (35 points).
During the preseason, Steen scored a goal against the Rangers at home. The team wants to sneak him through waivers because players like Marc McLaughlin and Chris Wagner had stronger camps.
Carrick and Wolff will likely clear waivers and be assigned with the P-Bruins. Both played well during camp and Wolff also was involved in a fight with Zack MacEwen against the Flyers.
They’ll be additional moves over the next week and half as teams are trimming down their rosters prior to the season opener.
