Bruins acquire prospect Shane Bowers from Colorado
The Bruins made their second trade in three days acquiring Avalanche prospect Shane Bowers for goalie Keith Kinkaid.
Bowers who has only one NHL game under his belt comes to Boston and will provide organization depth.
The 23-year-old is a former first round pick and former Boston University Terrier.
Bowers has played 37 games this season for the Colorado Eagles. The forward has four goals and 10 assists this season.
The 6-foot-2, 186 pound Bowers is on a one-year, two-way contract that pays $750K in the NHL and just $100K in the minors and he’ll be a restricted free agent with arbitration eligibility this summer.
Kinkaid heads to the Avs, which will be fifth NHL organization. The veteran has played parts of 10 season with a Devils, Canadiens, Rangers, Bruins and now Colorado.
The 33-year-old played in one game for the Bruins this season. He earned the win and then was returned to Providence.
Boston is now without a veteran third-string goalie. They team has Kyle Keyser, Brandon Bussi and Michael DiPierto in the system.
