Brian Keller Deals; Enmanuel Valdez Homers in Sox Debut
WooSox fall to Durham but have bright moments
On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon in Worcester, MA, the Worcester WooSox faced off with the Durham Bulls on a sunny 83-degree day.
Even though the WooSox were tagged with the 3-1 loss to the Bulls, they got a stellar outing from Brian Keller and Enmanuel Valdez went yard in his WooSox debut.
Keller worked six innings of stellar baseball as he allowed only one run on two hits while striking out a season-high 10 batters along the way.
Keller now has 88 strikeouts through 73 2/3 innings and owns a 3.30 ERA.
Keller was not tagged with the loss.
Valdez, who came over to the Red Sox in the Christian Vázquez deal, hit his first home run as a member of the Red Sox in his second at-bat with the WooSox.
It was a oppo blast that went 363 feet.
Valdez went one-for-four with an RBI and a run scored in his debut.
