Brayan Bello shines in Triple-A debut
The top pitching prospect shined in his debut with Worcester
The Boston Red Sox top pitching prospect Brayan Bello was promoted to Triple-A Worcester last week after having a dominating year with Double-A Portland Sea Dogs.
Prior to his call-up to Triple-A, Bello appeared in six games holding a 4-2 record and a 1.60 ERA with 42 strikeouts for Portland. He also threw a seven-inning no-hitter for the Double-A club, and was featured in our weekly ran “SoxSpects Portal” player profile.
On Wednesday night Bello worked six innings allowing two runs on six hits and striking out 10. This was his second time this season striking out 10 batters as he did so on April 12 in his first Double-A appearance of the year.
Bello records his first win with Worcester. And holds a 3.00 ERA.
Former White Sox fan favorite and standout Yolmer Sánchez went one-for-four with two RBI.
Jarren Duran and Ryan Fitzgerald hit homers. It was Duran’s third, Fitzgerald’s ninth. Both were solo shots.
Connor Wong hit safely in two of his three plate appearances driving in a run and reaching base on a walk.
