It didn’t take long for Brayan Bello to make an impression within the Boston Red Sox organization.
The number four overall prospect will make the jump from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Worcester and will make his first start for the WooSox on Wednesday night against the RailRiders, per Boston Strong via Twitter.
SoxProspects Executive Director Chris Hatfield also had the breaking news.
Bello appeared in six games holding a 4-2 record and a 1.60 ERA with 42 strikeouts with Portland this season.
He threw a seven-inning no-hitter for the Double-A club, and was featured in our weekly ran “SoxSpects Portal” player profile.
The next step for Bello is Boston.
