WooSox: Brayan Bello closes in on 100 strikeouts

Brayan Bello, the Red Sox top pitching prospect, worked seven innings of shutout ball allowing only a walk while striking out seven.

Two of his strikeouts came against Eloy Jimenez, who is rehabbing with the White Sox Triple-A affiliate, Charlotte Knights.

Another Bello changeup for a strikeout of Jimenez to close out his seventh inning of work. He’s been filthy.

Bello now has 99 strikeouts on the year between Double-A Portland and Triple-Worcester.

Bello struck out a whopping 42 hitters while in Portland before earning his promotion Worcester. Since joining the Triple-A club, he’s been nothing but lights out and should be close in line to earn a shot at big league hitters.
