Brandon Walter promoted to Triple-A Worcester

Less than a month after the Boston Red Sox announced that they would be promoting their top ranked pitching prospect Brayan Bello to Triple-A, it was announced that Boston would also be promoting their third ranked pitching prospect, Brandon Walter.

Walter has definitely earned this promotion as he’s had a stellar season thus far.

In nine games at the Double-A level, Walter has 68 strikeouts through an even 50 innings of work. He owned a 2-2 record while holding a 2.88 ERA.

In three of his key starts Walter struck out double-digit hitters. He struck out 10 twice and 11 once.

The first 10 strikeout game came on April 22, against Binghamton while the second 10 strikeout game came on May 5, against Reading. The 11 strikeout game came on May 20, against Harrisburg in game two of the clubs doubleheader.

Walter is indeed at Polar Park ahead of his Triple-A debut.
