Brandon Walter expected to make 2023 debut for WooSox on Saturday
Walter gets the nod for Saturday
On Saturday the WooSox (1-0) will face off against the Syracuse Mets (0-1) in the second of the three game series.
The WooSox were led in part by David Hamilton, Greg Allen, and David Palka who all homered in the WooSox 11-2 victory over the Mets.
Brandon Walter, who is ranked as my number seven prospect will make his season debut on Saturday for the WooSox against the Mets.
Last year Walter did not produce well against the Mets in his first start for the WooSox where he only worked 1.2 innings allowing six runs on five hits. He only managed to strike out two and exited with a 32.40 ERA in his Triple-A debut.
Walter did finish the year with the WooSox where he went 1-1 with an 8.22 ERA with seven strikeouts and four walks allowed.
He hit the IL in June and was not activated off of the IL until October.
Last season between AA/AAA, Walter went (3-3, 3.59) with 75 strikeouts and just seven walks allowed in 57.2 innings of work.
If he stays healthy, a big league debut could potentially happen this year.
