Bradfo Sho Fantasy Football League kicks off Monday night with online draft
The WEEI Bradfo Sho Fantasy Football League kicked off with their league on Monday night with an online ESPN snake draft. Now before anyone asks, this league is not going to end up with a Tommy Pham moment in outfield at Fenway Park. The smack (no pun intended) talk has already begun between the members of the league.
Let me introduce you to the 2022-2023 Bradfo Sho league participants.
The league is headlined by former Red Sox closer Jonathan Paplebon, Jarrod Saltalamacchia with GM Chris Henrique, Jonny Gomes with GM Nat Gordon, Nick Punto, Kyle Kendrick, prospect Alex Binelas, former reliever Mike Adams, three-time All-Star Dan Uggla, Rob Bradford with GM Nate Gardner, Commissioner Coop in a bow tie, Listener Ehtan and Courtney Finnicum.
Prior to the draft it was announced that Saltalamacchia was in the market for a general manager of his team. After a week of lobbying for the opportunity, I was crowned the general manager of Salty’s squad.
Jonny Gomes also had help with a general manager, Nat Gordon from Twitter (@BOSSportsGordo) is also part of the league.
The draft kicked off with Courtney picking No. 1 overall. She went with the obvious slam dunk pick, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. “I feel like I’ve been up all day and all night getting ready for this draft,” said Courtney.

With the second overall pick, Team Salty we’re aligned on Chargers running back Austin Ekeler. However due to ESPN auto-draft on the eventually champions Christian McCaffrey. We’d like to call that a happy accident and are very happy with CMac at No. 2 overall.
Former Red Sox infielder Nick Punto wasn’t able to figure out how to turn auto-draft off and the system automatically drafted him a stable of wide receivers.

The quote of the night belonged to Gomes, “People only throw rocks at shinny things and you’re seeing a lot of shine coming out of the sixth spot.” Gomes and Gordo grabbed Davlin Cook with the No. 6 pick.
