Bobby Dalbec will meet Red Sox in Tampa, Adam Duvall hurt, no official roster move has been announced
WooSox infielder Bobby Dalbec will travel to Tampa and meet the Red Sox on Monday, per MassLive’s Christopher Smith.
Dalbec is traveling to Florida because outfielder Adam Duvall injured his left wrist in the ninth inning against the Tigers on Sunday. Duvall was attempting to dive for a fly ball, he ended up landing hard on his left wrist.
The 34-year-old received X-rays after the game, Boston has not provided the results of the imaging.
“He’s getting X-rays right now, so we don’t know,” manager Alex Cora said postgame. “We’ll know more tomorrow.”
Duvall was red hot at the plate to start the season, batting .455 with four homers and 14 RBIs in his first eight games with the Red Sox.
“That’s not fun to watch at all,” Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford said to reporters after the game, including MLB.com’s Ian Browne. “Seeing him walk off the field, I think we’re all just kind of pulling for him and hopefully it’s not as serious as we might think it is.”
