Blaze Jordan finding his groove at the plate
After a slow start, Red Sox prospect Blaze Jordan is starting to show some encouraging signs at the plate. The former third-round pick has rediscovered his home run swing this week and has been an RBI machine. The Sea Dogs offense has been hard to stop with Jordan at his best.
Through 15 games, the talented infielder has posted a .237 batting average and driven 15 runs. Seven of his RBI this season have come in the last five days. During that stretch, he also hit his first two home runs of the season. While Jordan has come through with runners in scoring position, he is making an impact in other ways.
Entering play on Saturday, the Mississippi native had a seven-game hitting streak. During that span, his average increased from .121 to .237. For a prospect known for his tendency to hit towering home runs, Jordan’s ability to get on base of late has been a welcome sign.
Additionally, he has not had to rely on home runs. So far this season, Jordan has added five doubles to his resume. During the 2023 campaign, he hit 32 and appears well on his way to matching that total. Regardless of the opponent, he has started to round into midseason form.
