Red Sox fans speak about frustrations

The Red Sox are now owners of a four-game skid and own a horrendous 11-21 record against foes inside the American League East.

Entering the month of July, the Sox were battling for second place in the AL East and competing for first place in the AL Wild Card. Now, on July 15, the Sox find themselves third in the AL East and tied for the last Wild Card spot with Toronto.

The Yankees have been on a tear all year and don’t look to slow down. Sure, they’ve encounter a bad set against the Reds, but overall they lead the way in almost every aspect of baseball this year.

The Rays are being the Rays and winning with below-par financial stability and a rundown baseball field that photo shops it’s ballpark to make it look fuller than what it really is. But, the team is still good. And they will be in the playoffs.

The Blue Jays recently fired their skipper, yet they’re still in the fight as well. Surprisingly with all of their talent they’ve not been winning on record-pace this year. Maybe a new manger will help.

And the Orioles, who have been the laughing stock over the last number of years in the East are now over .500 and sit just a game and half back from the last spot for the Wild Card. They will be buyers and sellers at the deadline *if* they are still in the race.

Then there’s Boston, who has showed flashes of greatness and what it takes to win those big games. And then they go out and lay a shit ton of eggs and get swept or don’t even win a series.

And that brings us to the fans. The fans have recently spoken up and spoken out about the issues at hand. Some want Franchy traded for Josh Bell; others wants Xander gone because the belief among some fans is that he will be leaving in the off-season altogether. Truth is, the Sox need to sell and build around Boegarts and Rafael Devers for the remainder of the year and see what happens.

As for the fans, they were vocal on the Twitter machine.

@soxspectsportal Considering all of the injuries, the fact that we're still in position to play in October is very encouraging. The pitching depth shown has been excellent. 1B has been a major issue, but I think they were counting on Casas being ready by now. 2nd half will be fun!

@soxspectsportal A lot of shitty play early that corrected itself later on, but then injuries reared their head at the worst possible time. With pitchers coming back and dodging the bullet with Story, I think the 2022 second will resemble the 2021 first half.

@soxspectsportal There has been two definite rough patches in this season, and that was April-May and the first half of July. But I think that with a healthier pitching staff returning, this season’s second half will be better. I envision us winning 88-90 games.
