A.J. Greer quickly becoming a fan favorite in Boston
Greer: 'You look at Boston in general. They’re energetic people, people who are passionate'
New Bruins winger A.J. Greer showed heart and grit during the preseason and that is carrying over to the regular season.
Greer scored two goals in the Bruins 6-3 win on Saturday night against the Coyotes.
After scoring the Bruins’ fifth goal late in the third period, Greer turned to the TD Garden crowd, celebrated and kissed the B crest on his sweater.
“I was kinda overwhelmed when I scored that goal and I just wanted to show my love for the Bruins and for the fans,” Greer said. “It was an awesome evening.”
Bruins: Jakub Lauko made the most of his NHL debut
The Joliette, Quebec City native added an empty-net goal that would ice the Bruins win.
“I lived here when I was at BU. I went to the Sox games ... I went to a few Bruins playoffs games,“ he said. “You look at Boston in general. They’re energetic people, people who are passionate.”
Boston is now 2-0 on the season and will play their third game of the season Monday night. They will welcome the Florida Panthers to the TD Garden.
