Adam Duvall to begin rehab assignment next week
Duvall will rehab with the WooSox beginning on Tuesday
The Red Sox are close to adding a key member back to their lineup. Outfielder Adam Duvall will begin a rehab assignment with the WooSox beginning on Tuesday.
Duvall broke his left wrist just eight games into the season back in April in Detroit.
He suffered the injury when he attempted to make a diving catch on liner that was falling fast in center field. The veteran wound up rolling his left wrist and suffered the fracture.
To begin his Red Sox career, Duvall was hitting .455 with five doubles, one triple, four homers, 14 RBIs and he was posted an impressive 1.030 slugging percentage.
It’s unknown how Boston will utilize Duvall once he’s activated off the injured list. Jarren Duran is hitting .300 with an .836 OPS since his call up and has played a strong center field in Duvall’s absence.
“I’m taking ground balls, taking fly balls,” Duvall told MassLive last week. “Starting to hit the ball off the Tee. I think we’ll just continue to try to push it and see where we’re at. We’ll take some swings and then see where we’re at the next morning.”
Duvall can come off the injured list on June 9 as the Red Sox begin a three-game series with the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
