Adam Duvall drawing plenty of interest on the trade market

With the MLB trade deadline quickly approaching, the Red Sox could be a busy team over the next two days. They have been on fire in July and should be in buy mode. One player who has drawn some interest is Adam Duvall. With Jarren Duran, Alex Verdugo, and Masataka Yoshida having excellent seasons, Duvall could be a trade chip.
Over the last week, Duvall has been linked to a few teams, such as the Phillies and Braves. According to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, Phillies scouts were in San Fransisco on Saturday night to watch Duvall. After a quiet June, the veteran outfielder has started to heat up at the plate at the perfect time.
In 43 games this year, the Kentucky native has posted a .260 batting average and driven in 28 runs. He has also shown some power with eight home runs and 14 doubles. While the 34-year-old did miss two months due to a fractured wrist, his bat would be an asset to any contending team. The Red Sox don’t have to trade Duvall, but they are in a unique position.
Entering play on Sunday, the Red Sox are only 1.5 games out of a playoff spot. However, they have a crowded outfield room and highly rated prospect Ceddanne Raefela waiting in Triple-A. Duvall is a free agent at the end of the season and could net a decent return as contenders search for upgrades offensively.
Additionally, there is plenty of interest in the former eleventh-round pick. According to Fansided's Robert Murray, "There's quite a bit of interest in Duvall, he's got a good chance of being traded, the Phillies are far from alone."
As Chaim Bloom looks to add to this roster, he also has the future in mind. While Duvall has shown that he can carry this offense when needed, the Red Sox have plenty of options to replace him if a trade they can't deny materializes before Tuesday at 6 p.m.
